This beautiful Art Nouveau lady's head trinket or pin tray was made by Schafer & Vater between 1890 and 1900. The matte dusty pink jasperware is "jewelled" with small teardrop and circular shapes in shiny enamel decorated to look like gems embedded in the lady's headdress, earrings and around the edges. The 1-1/8" high small dresser dish measures 5-1/4" in diameter, with the lady's head in the center of the concave recess. The underside only has the number "89" and another 4-digit number which are not fully legible (last two digits are "33). This pin tray's damaged companion piece (which is not for sale) is impressed with the Schafer & Vater crown over star mark. The lovely piece is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is a tiny drop of blue enamel on the right side of the lady's head at 2:00 o'clock. Perfect for Milady's dresser, this exotic beauty would make a nice Mother's Day gift! Thank you for looking. Please email me if I can help you in any way.
