Rare book, The Wonderful Fashion Doll
Although it is out of print, this very hard to find book by former Chicago school teacher and prolific author-illustrator, Laura Bannon, "The Wonderful Fashion Doll" is still a popular book today. Published by the Riverside Press, Cambridge, in 1953, the story is about a curious little girl, visiting her uncle's farm, who finds an old letter about a hidden antique fashion doll, eventually finding it. The 6" x 8" blue-green cloth covered book has 88 pages with black and white illustrations throughout except for three full color prints of the antique doll in her fashionable attire. The tight library binding has wear to the top and bottom of spine and corners, with the former owner's name written in pencil on the first free end paper. The book is in good condition with minor age-toned pages, bright illustrations and very light smudges on some of the pages. There is
no dust jacket, but the book is complete with no crayon or pencil marks. This is truly a delightful book, a must for anyone interested in antique dolls! Thank you for looking. Please email me if I can be of any help to you.
