Measuring just 18" high, this late 19th century doll accessory for walking in the hot afternoon sun, has a tiny tassel that hangs down 1-1/2" from the end of each of the eight metal ribs. A red, green and pink cotton print covers the parasol with a 3" long pewter tipped bamboo piece that extends above the cloth. The curved bamboo handle extends 8-1/4" below the closed parasol. Mechanism of the parasol works very well, opening and closing with ease. A gold cloth cord ending in a carrying ring hangs from the top of the parasol. I found two tiny holes in the fabric, possibly from snags, as the fabric itself is sturdy, although soiled where the folds are exposed. I did not clean it, but being cotton, it is likely to clean up well along with the tassels. I have had doll parasols with ruffles, lace, and other decorations, but never with tassels, which is an interesting and fun embellishment! Perhaps your favorite doll needs a new day parasol. It would be a great pick-me-up at this time of year! Thank you for looking.
