Mens Art Deco Real Ruby Gold Ring

The 10kt gold has a typical stacked art deco appeal, but at closer examination there are elements of the Arts and Crafts style; with etched sun rays which have an Indian look, and leaves stamped into the top wrapped setting. The ruby is smooth on top which was most often the case during the era, but throws light around from the undercut facets. Rarely are real rubies found anymore, but this ring has the 'look' before it was even tested. We have had a few shoppers question us as to whether this stone was low heat treated. That was not a practice in the 1920's, so we would have to say that the answer to that is no.

The last photo shows some scratching on the stone on the top edge from heavy wear, which is not visible without magnification. The gold also shows wear, without causing defects, giving testimony to the hardness of the gold and stone. It's just under a size 12 and comes with the Lucite ring box shown. The ring is stamped inside the band with 10K and HAND MADE.
