Charming Royal Chelsea Turquoise, White and Gold Cup and Saucer, Pattern 265A, Circa Mid-20th Century
This fetching cup and saucer has gorgeous wavy turquoise blue bands going around the saucer and the inside of the cup. These bands are surrounded with gold edging, then gold leaves all around, ending with a rayed arrangement of gold lines in the center. The outside of the cup is encircled with the gold leaves, and two bands going around the footed base of the cup.
This divine cup and saucer was made by the New Chelsea China Co. LTD of Longton in Staffordshire, England., under the name Royal Chelsea . They used this name from about 1943 to 1961. It is clearly marked on both the cup and saucer along with the pattern number of 265A.
It's a lovely set, and would be a delight to any cup and saucer collector! Or, imagine having tea in the garden with this set. The condition is very good; especially considering it's around 60 years old.
