Rare, Large Capodimonte 19th Century Porcelain Bas-relief Casket with Bronze Dore
All four sides of the casket is covered with high relief hand painted scenes of putti, dancing away, many having musical instruments. There are two Centaurs who each have an additional rider. This is a spectacular casket made of the hard paste porcelain of early Naples that is fully marked with the Coronet (Crown) over the letter N for Naples.
The entire piece is in very good condition. There are no breaks or repairs. The bronze dore has a snug fit. There are hand painted roses on the inside lid and the inside bottom
Condition: There is a small amount of discoloration on one side of the inside lid.
