This handsome berry scoop from Maine was used until machines took over. They are still used by some families. These scoops were plentiful at one time, but this is the first one I have seen of this style in a very long time. This scoop is well built and in great shape. I have used it as a magazine rack. It is handy and decorative at the same time. There are 13 long prongs which scoop the berries and they fall into the box. It has a breadboard bottom, a sturdy handle, and a reddish brown finish. The dimensions are: 11-3/16" wide, 15-1/2" high, and 8" deep with handle (5" without handle.) If you love country, this is for you!
The condition is great. I have it pictured with a copy of Antiques Magazine to show what a clever magazine rack it makes!
