Antique Chinese Wood Cricket Travel Box
This antique Chinese wood cricket travel box is 10" with counting the handle, about 5" high without the handle up, and 9" wide at the widest point.
This is the first and only wood cricket box I have ever seen.
It would have been used by a country farmer or peasant to take his cricket to town to fight.
The hinge is a wire bent over the wood extension.
Also crickets were kept for their singing and as a sign of good luck.
