This stunning antique "mother of pearl" (satin glass), called "air trap" by the British vase is about 7 1/8" at high point of ruffle and 2" at the base. The raspberry color at the top graduating to the palest baby pink at the bottom. The interior is white. Pockets of air are trapped between the two layer of glass then hand blown, by a master into a design, this one is called herringbone. And has a ruffled rim at the top, a ground pontil at the base. It has an iridescent appearance. There are a couple of air bubbles trapped in the glass and a blemish that was in the vase at the time it was made. It is a beautiful piece in excellent condition.
