This wood block print is 8"x 12", framed, 12 1/2"x 15" Called "Maiko Girl Doing Flower Arrangements by Sadanobu Hasegawa. The Maiko girl, an apprentice Geisha is arranging flowers in a woven vase, she has turned away from the arrangement and is looking off to her left. The artist Sadanobu Hasegawa(1881-1962) belonged to a famous family of woodcut artists who worked in kyoto, Japan. The picture was framed in Singapore in 1985, as stamped on the back, along with a paper sticker put on by the Uchida Art Co Ltd of Kyoto, Japan and the partial page about the process of making a wood block print.Please email me any questions and thank you for shopping here at Something Wonderful.
