This Piece of carved Bone measures approx. 2" tall and 1" wide. It is a man who is bald headed has a beard and holding a fan. He is wearing a long robe and he is signed on the bottom. Netsuke are miniature sculptures which were used as a fastener/button to secure boxes on cords for holding personal items while wearing a kimono. Netsuke reflect important aspects of Japanese life.
