Antique Santos-1880 Italian Pottery Christ Child
This is a 1880's Santos Religious figure- made out of pottery it is from Italy, and is of the Christ child. Age defects are - fingers broken on one and, missing most of other hand, feet chipped, paint missing on body, but the astounding fact is the face and hair features are still in great shape and the statue remains very sturdy. It is fasten to a carved wood base, which has some breakage on the back's edge. Look at the pictures please. For all of the damage, etc., this piece still stands as a fabulous find for it's age.
