This artist specialized in painting sheep in various locations and painted most of his works on a 6 X 9 inch panel, such as this one. The detail is extra ordinary in this work. He is a well listed and artist in demand now and he was certainly an accomplished artist in his painting prime when he painted this work. The painting displays very well. It is oil on panel. It is signed and dated lower left on barn post "JB Van Diegham ?? 1865" The condition is excellent and ready to hang. The frame is very good except a small piece of inner lining is missing. see photo's.
