French Fashion Doll circa 1870 MORNING GOWN Direct from the Attic!

Layaway always available. This item was found in FRANCE, but will be mailed from the USA to save you loads on postage! Stephane needed to send me HEART MEDICATION in his latest shipment! He has discovered a lovely lady in France who is selling her collection of antique French fashion clothes! Of course, my dolls IMMEDIATELY snatched the small sizes (they are all 12" -14" dolls), and I sold a killer walking suit for a 17" doll to a dear friend. That leaves this PRISTINE linen and HANDMADE LACE (not factory made lace) Morning Gown or Day Dress for your lady! There are absolutely no critter nibbles, tears or breaks in this lovely outfit. There are the tiniest spots of rust stain on the lace only (see close-up of old hooks and eyes closure) but they are only visible if you are really looking for them. A daub of WINK fabric rust remover would probably make them disappear. The dress is totally hand stitched and it is unlined. If you are a clever seamstress, it would not be too challenging to make a soft white muslin lining for it. If you have ever been to Belgium, and watched women make lace by hand, you can appreciate the hours of labor that went into the trim on this gown! Handmade lace is also much sturdier than machine lace and there are no breaks in it at all. I gently washed the gown in Woolite, ironed it, and it is ready to display on a stand or to put on your doll to wear as she takes care of her morning correspondence at her secretaire, a cup of tea in her hand. The gown measures 14" from the top of the front neckline to the bottom of the lace trim on the front. The back measures 23" from the top of the neckline at the collar to the the bottom of the lace on the train. The sleeves measure 4 3/4" from the top center where they join the gown to the bottom of the cuff. The chest measures 5 1/2" when lain flat. The collar measure 2" from the neckline to the bottom of the lace trim. The cuffs measure 1 3/4" from the top of the lace "V" to the bottom of the sleeve. If you love history and would to have an AUTHENTIC 140-YEAR-OLD EARLY FRENCH FASHION DOLL morning dress with an ELEGANT PLEATED TRAIN, where will you ever find another!?! Because of the age and rarity of this gown, I cannot accept refunds unless I have misrepresented anything in my description. Some like to "buy and try" and then send back. I cannot risk the potential damage that could result on such a rare piece. Thanks for your understanding.
