Higgins Fused Glass Ashtrays

There are three of these wonderful, signed Higgins fused glass ashtrays for your consideration. In 1948 Michael Higgins and Frances Stewart married and immediately began working together in their new studio exploring their mutual fascination of glass fusing techniques. In 1957 the Higgins partnered with Dearborn Glass Company of Chicago. They also had a brief stint with Haeger Potteries. Although Michael died in 1999 and Frances passed away in 2004, the Higgins Glass Studio continues to this day.

These great ashtrays measure about 5" x 5" and are all signed in the 1950's gold signature, "higgins." Each consists of a large white flower and is then accented with a green center and green leaves. One has a creamy tan background, one a turquoise background and the other in what we would call a yellow green background. All of these ashtrays are in perfect condition without fleabites, chips or cracks. They appear to have never been used!
