This beautiful vintage 1980's apothecary - pharmaceutical Mortar & Pestle is in mint, unused condition. It is made of thick and heavy white stoneware, medical grade. Interior of the mortar is unglazed. Pestle grinding surface is also unglazed. Rounded sides and pouring lip.

Mortar measures 7 1/4" top diameter (without pouring lip) and sits 2 7/8" high. The pestle is 7" long and the rounded grinding end is 2 1/4" wide.
Mortar side is marked under glaze in green, "55---6a HALDENWANGER BERLIN". Underside is stamp marked, "MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY" Bottom marked with the number 6. Pestle is blue stamp marked on side, "WESTERN GERMANY" and on the end is marked 56---6a HALDENWANGER BERLIN". Both pieces have hallmark. Mint, unused condition.
