Vintage Excello Divided Warming Baby Dish 1949

The sweet ceramic divided child's warming dish was made by EXCELLO in 1949. It has a hot water reservoir to keep the food warm during a feeding. The reservoir has the original celluloid capped cork.

The three compartments each have a different scene of a duck family. Mama Duck dressed for a trip to the market; the babies playing in the water; and the brother and sister playing on a teeter-totter.

The divided dish is incised (under glaze), "EXCELLO", and is stamped, "AUG 1949".

It measures 8 inches in diameter without the tab handles and 9 1/4 inches across with the handles. It sits 2 3/8 inches high.

The dish is in excellent condition no chips or cracks. There is crazing to the glaze typical for age of the item. There is no paint loss to any of the images whatsoever.

EXCELLO USA baby and child dishes are difficult to find in excellent condition with the original reservoir closure. This one is a beauty and would make a much loved gift for a new baby.
