This lovely antique majolica plate is decorated with a raised relief design of cherries against a closed lattice pattern. The predominant colors are muted reddish browns, hues of aqua, burnt orange and ivory. The center of the plate is mottled with the same soft colors.
The scalloped edge has three open `handles' that are created by the curved branches from which the cherries hang.
The plate measures 9 3/4 inches across at widest points and sits 1 3/8 inches high.
Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or glaze flakes. There are no back maker marks. Circa early 1900's.
This plate is unusual and beautiful.
