What an incredible antique Chinese hand mirror. The mirror is set in a silver repousse' designed frame. The back of the mirror features an exquisitely enameled water scene with two birds among lotus flowers in deep blue water and in front of a turquoise blue sky. The colors are true and rich.
The handle of the mirror is of a beautiful smooth celadon green jade that is set in the ornamental silver frame structure. The enameled back and clear mirror front are both beautifully prong set.
The mirror measures 5 1/4 inches long with the handle and 2 1/4 inches across. I would date it to the early 1900's or earlier.
The condition is mint. There is no damage whatsoever to the enamel work, the silver work, the mirror, or to the jade handle.
This enameled and jade hand mirror was part of an old San Francisco estate and it is stunning.
