Edwardian English Mahogany Jeweled Collar Box

My husband got this when he lived in England. It was just too cool. This is a magnificent piece: I can imagine Lord Grantham from Downton Abbey having this mahogany collar box. It has a simple brass trim on top and brass fittings, with 8 faceted amethysts - 2 0n each side!!! Open the hinged box and you are presented with a red, satin lined collar box (I added an old collar) in pristine condition. There is a round center box trimmed in leather (3 5/8 inches diameter) where the collar stays, extra buttons, and cuffs would go. This box is absolutely beautiful!! There are slight scratches at top.and the top is a wee bit off center (by millimeters, but I think this is the way it was hand made). For a late 1800s - early 1900s piece, it's a real treasure. It is 7 1/2 inches wide; 7 1/2 inches deep; a tad over 5 1/2 inches tall. The brass could be polished up, but I dare not touch it.
