As a homeschooling Mom of 5, I've LOVED Dickens Ware. I've used this stein so many times to the delight of my kids!! For birthdays with root beer floats; or for special rewards; as a beer mug for me at the end of a LONG day; or to teach Dickens' The Pickwick Papers. Both the front and back of this English stein has a lovely full coloured transfer illustration from the novel. The bottom winds up to play "For he's a Jolly Good Fellow." The outer background is pinkish and the mug is white inside. It is trimmed in brown on the rim and handle. There is slight glaze crazing all over. This hefty piece was made in the Staffordshire district in the early 1900s during the Edwardian Era.
The mug stands 6 inches tall and is 3 1/2 inches in diameter (without handle included). It has looked quite handsome on the library shelving in our den when not being used. I hope you will use it as well as we have!!
