I hope you love this plate as much as I do!!! Made by J. Heath from 1845-1853 in the Staffordshire District of England, is this beautiful Romantic Transferware plate. It is 12 sided with floral bouquets and trailing vines scrolling the rim. The central medallion features a European castle in the background with tall towers at its left. A waterfall cascades down the mountains to the river, front. There are rustic tents on the right riverbank, surrounded by tall elms. I love the tree limbs holding the tents up!!! In the foreground, a group of people congregate on the cliffside.
This plate from the North American Wilderness series is 9 1/3 inches in diameter. The light blue transfer is nice and crisp. It is in good condition with no hairlines, chips, cracks, or crazing, but there are small tiny knife scratches on the plate itself.
