This colorful example dates from 1900-1910 and has provenance from a very large and important French and Belgian Majolica collection.
The cache pot measures: 7" tall, 9 1/4" in diameter across the top and 6" in diameter across the bottom. The interior is 6 7/8" deep.
The enthusiastic design of deeply textured acanthus leaves repeats around the outside of the pot. Golden flowers peek out from underneath the leaves, which are in dynamic colors of turquoise, emerald green and forest green. The bottom has a lovely butterscotch colored scalloped frame (in leaf shapes). The raised design has a background glaze of deepest rose which gives vibrancy to the green leaves. The interior is glazed in turquoise.
The bottom bears the mark of a "C" and "K" interlocking, and an interlocking "S" and "C" with a small "T" at the top. There is a model number of 308. The cache pot in in good antique condition. There is wear and darkening to the bottom of the interior in accordance with age and use. There are no noticeable cracks or chips visible (please study the photos as these are part of our description). The colors remain rich and vibrant.
