A fabulous little piece, it can hold three small images (openings measure 7/8" in diameter). We present the frame with paper photos for display purposes. It was made precisely for the doll/miniature market in France and originates from Paris. (dating from mid century)
Three individual, very ornate frames have been placed together to form a tall tower. The frames have a cast design featuring central cherubs at the bottom, swinging on a ribbon and reclining figures (man and woman) on either side of the frame opening. Arabesques and scrolls surround the figures and a central fleur de lis sits atop each frame.
The frame stands on two easel arms. The photo/pictures simply insert into the slots at the back of each frame. There is a central ribbon on the back of the top frame for use with a hanging ribbon (which would be lovely!) The frame is in good and solid condition. It measures:4 1/2" tall, 3 1/2" wide (at middle). Each single frame measures: 1 3/4" wide and 2 5/8" tall.
It could be used for small antique photos in a doll vignette, or for small family photos. It is an unusual and very charming example.
