This solid bronze ink well is handsome with a noble lion at the center. It comes from Paris and dates from the 1920-40.
The lion is cast with fine detailing. He sits on a three tired platform. The two ink wells (with lids) hold two glass ink pots. The pen holder is engraved with the name "Belfort" on the top right. The inkwell lids have flower petal shapes cascading down the top. The back bottom of the base has a lovely cast floral bouquet.
It measures: 8" long, 4" wide (at middle), 2 3/4" wide (at each end), 3 3/4" tall to center of lion's head.
It is in good and solid condition. There is only slight wear and staining to the bronze along inside of the ink pen holder, as is typical with age and use.
