This is a lovely example of a porcelain snuff bottle. It was purchased in Paris, France.
A beautiful lady dances on a cloud on the front and back of the bottle. She is wearing a silk kimono, in red, purple and orange. A swirling green scarf flows around her feet and head. Flowers fall from the bouquet she holds in her right hand. The entire bottle is made of white porcelain. The little "bouchon" is made of marbled jade-green glass. It has a cork stopper (which shows no evidence of every having a spoon).
The little bottle measures: 2 1/8" tall and 1 1/8" wide. The bottom measures: 1" x 3/4". It is in very good condition, with no visible cracks or chips. The little cork stopper has worn away with the repetitive opening of the bottle, but remains intact and useable.
We love the image on the back and front of the bottle, it is almost magical.
