This adorably petite coffee/tea pot has the handles attached with rivets, which dates it from around 1900. It is French, purchased in Provence.
It is of an unusually small size, made for use by one or two persons. It is entirely of white enamel, with a covered spout and lid. There is a hand-painted design of pink flowers with green leaves on two sides. The spout has four hand painted gilt accents. The bottom of the pot bears the maker's mark, two straight marks in brown, surrounded by dots. The interior is of white enamel as well.
It measures 6 1/2" tall, the bottom is 3 5/8" in diameter. It is in very good condition for its age, with no loss of color in the painted designs. It has normal chipping to the enamel which add to the endearing patina of the little coffee/tea pot.
It is a nice, early piece in an unusual size.
