This beautiful sugar bowl, created by Flamand & Fils, richly decorated with intricate Neo-Renaissance repousse and applied engraved cartouches. The top knop is a beautifully sculpted baby. The handles topped with finely chased acanthus. In fact, the meticulous chasing is a superb feature of the overall styling of this sugar bowl. There are bell flowers, Bows and ribbons, lily of the valley, a glorious floral medley. There is an interlaced script monogram 'CM' on the central cartouche. The French sugar bowls, of course, are gigantic. This one stands roughly 7.25" tall, and 7.5" widewith a 5.5" diameter. Weight is 590 grams (19 troy ounces). Condition is superb. No flaws to note.
