Lapar: Antique French Sterling & Vermeil Boxed Hors D'Oeuvres Set: Crown!

Exquisite set of 6 hors d'oeuvres flatware pieces in a stunning rocailles pattern. The set, in original box, is in excellent condition. There are two bonbon servers, two forks and a set of tings. The gold plate is thick and there is a small area of loss on the back of the spoon. The forks are beautifully chased and the bonbon servers both chased and pierced with foliate decoration. The monogram 'FG' (I think) is topped with the crown of a marquis. The red velvet and satin lined box in good condition. Fabulous addition to your own collection, or stunning gift.

Marks: All pieces bear the Minerve 1st titre, .950 sterling standard, and the maker's punch for Leon Lapar, Paris 1878-1891.

Dimensions: Bonbon servers: 5.75" long, forks 5 5/8" long, spoon 5.5" long and tongs 4.5" long. Combined weight 180 grams.
