Cardeilhac: Antique French Sterling Silver & Mother of Pearl Dessert Knife Set 18 Pieces
Beautiful set of 18 dessert knives created by one of the most celebrated French Master Silversmiths: Armand-Edouard Cardeilhac. Maison Cardeilhac remained in the family from the time of it's inception, in 1804. Many awards, and many of the most discerning customers, accrued to Maison Cardeilhac across two centuries. Armand-Edouard, the second Cardeilhac to head the company, presided when awarded the prestigious Gold Medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1878. The knife set offered here comes in the original box. Crafted of mother of pearl and sterling silver; the mother of pearl handles are elegant, simple and especially pristine. Not a mark on these handles. The .950 sterling silver blades are in very good condition; one or two with a nibble. All pieces are marked with the maker's punch for Cardeilhac, as well as the Minerve 1st titre, French sterling guarantee. The box is also marked with the medallion for Cardeilhac at Rue de Rivoli in Paris. A superb set at a superb price.
