CARDEILHAC : Antique French Sterling Silver "Mascaron" Ecuelle Tureen

From renowned Parisian master silversmith Armand-Edouard CARDEILHAC, an exceptional quality antique French Napoleon III era sterling silver tureen, complete with original 950 silver liner. This finely crafted tureen is of classic 18th century ├ęcuelle form, with lateral pierced handles featuring sublime female mascarons framed by scrolling motifs, and domed lid skillfully flat-chased with floral and foliate motifs surmounted by a striking mask finial. Both body and lid are decorated with an elaborate applied reticulated monogram. Body, lid and liner are stamped with the French Minerve 950 silver mark, and maker's mark for Armand-Edouard Cardeilhac who commenced trading in 1851. The total weight of this magnificent ├ęcuelle tureen is a substantial 1435 grams! Condition is excellent. Please refer to photos for measurements.
