Rare to find a cordial service in a mug shape design. Gustave Odiot produced this rare set of 5 in the late 1800's. The doubtless Baccarat crystal shot are mounted with .950 sterling silver holders, and covered with 22k gold. Decoration includes two textured bands with large pearls, swags hanging from the upper band, between silver 'drapes' that join the upper and lower bands. And of course, these shots have handles. Each portion of the silver is marked: the mount has the Minerve 1st titre punch, and the handles have the Tete Sanglier, or Boar's Head guarantee for small items. On the base is the Odiot punch, and the words "Odiot A Paris". The specific punch dates the set to the end of the 1800's. Condition is good. There are two flaws. One of the shots has more gold loss overall than the others. As you can see from the group shots; this isn't a glaring difference, but it is a difference nonetheless. Also, on one of the shots there is a missing swag. The glasses sit snugly in the mounts; only one will easily be parted from the mount. This is a charming and unusual set of shots from a renowned silver smith.
Dimensions: Glasses are 1.5" tall, 1.5" diameter and 2.5" long.
