Silver Belt C. 1900

Elegant silver belt c. 1900 from the trans-caucuses region of Imperial Russia (now the independent state of Georgia). Originally worn with traditional Kindjal knife and now used as an exotic accessory with dress or pants. Made from multiple segments of .84 hallmarked silver fitted over leather belt. Smooth wear and warm unpolished patina consistent with age. Silver plated buckle with wear and design as seen in close up photo. Small hanging "tassels" originally held leather loops for hanging knife and other accoutrements. Length 33 inches, width .5 inches. Domestic USPS shipping and insurance included with purchase.
