Light Blue Cloisonne Enameled Pendant With Crane Motif
This vintage 1970's cloisonne pendant is composed of high quality enamel on brass and includes a 23' long gold plated open weave rope chain. The vase pendant measures 2.25" long by 1" wide and not merely a representative object. This is an actual vessel that can store a petite item or perfume! There is light wear on the base and no stamps or marks.
The brightly colored enameled scene is of a crane - the Chinese symbol for longevity and youth.
Cloisonne is the process where by glass dust is carefully placed into a variety of cells that make up a specific pattern. This carefully prepared object is then placed into a hot oven/kiln and melted. It is a painstaking process that requires great attention to detail, which is why these objects are so prized.
