Here is an absolutely fabulous American brilliant period cut glass plate, signed Libbey, in the rare Columbia pattern. The highlights of this pattern are the clear tusks in the central portion of the pattern surrounded by 8 hobstars around the outer edge. This piece is rated a 1-1 pattern by Pearson. This is a very difficult to find pattern and is fairly expensive when it is found for sale. This plate is 11 1/2" in diameter and stands approximately 1 1/2" tall. The plate weighs in at 3 pounds and 1 ounce, which is light for a tray/platter type of dish but more in keeping with a plate. There are no missing or chipped teeth and no damage within the pattern. The piece fluoresces the greenish color consistent with what is accepted as authentic brilliant period American cut glass.
