Antique French Enamel Miniature Basket with Jeweled Beading & Gilt Bronze Mounts
France, 19th century.
This delightful French enamel basket is crafted in stunning detail with floral enameling and hand applied raised jeweled beads on a rich cobalt blue ground. The blue ground color combined with the delicate gilt accents and raised enamel dots is characteristic of the work of the French enamellists residing in Sevres and Bresse. This intricately hand enamelled basket is of exceptional quality.
The miniature enamel basket is in very good condition. There are a few very fine lines in the white enamel. These are superficial and barely visible. The original silk lining is tattered and stained . This richly embellished enamel basket will add beauty to any French enamel collection.
