Victorian Ladies Portrait Limoges Style Enamel Porcelain and Silver Earrings

These hand painted Limoges style earrings set in sterling silver feature a young woman with Victorian red hat with blue flowers perched on an upswept coiffure of strawberry blond hair, red dress with white collar, decolletage neckline and gold chain necklace. She has lovely flesh tones, blushing cheeks and rouge lips, charming expressive eyes. All hand painted on a deep blue-green enamel background on porcelain discs. The metal mounts are silver--one marked sterling at center of back on bar and one marked sterling on the side of hinged back clasp. This earring has a raised dot in center which is missing on the other where clasps meet backs. Both earrings still hold fast to my ears. Perhaps this was an adjustment made by previous owner. The portrait miniatures of these French or English ladies are delightful! The pair of earrings weigh 13.9 grams and measure 1 inch in diameter.
