Antique Ardmore, Indian Territory Comic Post Card with I. T. Cancellation
Indian Territory (I.T.) used antique postcard. Comic postcard of man paying the restaurant check, "I really had no idea" says he (how much a young lady could eat). Numbered 376 on front and "Souvenir of Ardmore, I. T." on the bottom edge. Hand written on the front, "Hello May! Well, here I am still in Ardmore, don't know when I will leave. Gulf Port, Miss. Regards to all. I. B. J. May 13, '06"
Good condition with normal wear associated with age. Card is sepia-tone corners rounded, very light amount of cancel ink on front, long, light crease along left edge and another across lower right corner and a pin hole top center. Series 1902 Ben Franklin one cent stamp, double canceled. Measures 5 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches.
Mailed before Oklahoma became a state. "Ardmore, Ind. T. May 28, 1906" cancellation on undivided back, as well as one for Houston, Texas June 4, 1906 and Palestine, Texas June 5, 1906.
