Extremely beautiful and Rare French 1890 era bebe by Verdier & Gutmacher with original body. Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes with marvelous deep regard.Painted lashes, feathered brows with glaze highlights, rose-mauve blushed eyeshadow,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,open mouth with slightly parted lips,row of six tiny porcelain teeth,pierced ears, old human hair wig in light brown tone. French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. The doll measures 28 inches ( 71 cm). Wearing antique Dress with cap in beige ochre batiste,ornate with filet lace trims and millinery rosebuds bouquet, antique panties in beige pure cotton, antique ivory silk 3/4 socks and old black leather shoes.

Excellent Condition: No hairlines,cracks or restoration on the head. Original body finish with usual minor age wear.A tiny part of the eyebrow is slightly unpainted. Some remnants of glue cork pate at the edge of head.. Please see details in pictures. Wig and clothes in excellent condition, only two pin size holes on the socks and two pin size holes on the bodice of dress due to age, they are almost not visible because of the gathered work.
The french firm Verdier and Gutmacher created their bebes for five years only ( 1897-1902) with expression based on Mold AT. Thuillier.
