Antique Gold leafed Spelter 18th Century Sailor Statue circa 1880
A Delightful Statue of an American or British Sailor with 24 K. gold finish and w believe spelter and not bronze.. hard to tell because the interior is also gold ( it maybe brass as well). Probably was on top of a clock at one time. He has buttoned leg stockings , stripe pants,a blouson shirt with one sleeve rolled up, a straw hat with ribbons, a kerchief , a cane and a money bag at his side.. quite charming.. measures 6" X 6" X 2.6". There is what appears to be a foundry seal on back near his foot cannot decipher and one on the back under his hand cannot decipher either..# 5 & 8 are the closest of what it looks like in person..
