Chinese or Japanese Lacquer Dresser Box with Chimera/Foo Lion Dog ca. 1930

In remarkable condition for at least 90 yr old lacquer. It appears to be like Papier Mache but denser to the touch.Very smooth surface; finely manufactured. The Chimera is raised slightly above the surface giving it a dramatic look.Original silk cord/fringe! measures; 5 1/2" wide x 5" high. In very good condition , very minor flea-bite dents .
