Antique Japanese Moriage/Beaded Vase/Jar Museum Quality ca 1890 Artist signed
very delicate Japanese Moriage & Beaded; raised enamel work with two lovely reserves; one of a Boy & Girl playing with heavily applied white moriage on clothing with super-fine gold details, all hand-painted surrounded by a delicately drawn border in gold with the tiniest beading; the other side a bouquet of flowers rivaling Meissen ( almost). On background extremely delicate lines and dots in raised enamel.there are reserves of flowers under the handles as well. Amazing art work! There has been restorations to one handle. The stopper is new with 24 karat Monarch Gold leaf . Measures 10" with stopper & 8 3/4" without.. Signed on the inside of bottom in blue Japanese characters.. Some one wrote on the base; we have left it in case someone can decipher.. truly a gem! We have not seen an artist signature before on this type of Japanese porcelain nor a reserve with children.
