This lovely Mahogany Chippendale while probably not period, is likely of 19th century manufacture and comes from an old plantation in Maryland. The glass is original and shows the distortion you would expect from early glass of this size. The old silver is still intact with minimal smokiness and casts a lots of light and a nice, sharp reflection. The vulnerable scroll-cut detail on the frame has been broken and repaired from the back a number of times over the years yet hardly shows from the front. At its widest dimension the frame measures 23" and is 47" tall.
