Evelyn Upton Lighter-Shaped Perfume Atomizer, c. 1946

This gadget was a must have for the handbag of a 1940's modern woman.

While this art deco piece looks like a lighter, it is actually a perfume atomizer.

It is marked EVELYN UPTON, PAT PEND USA and was monogrammed with the initials: VG. There are spots on its face that may or may not polish out, otherwise, this is in very good condition. This atomizer measures 1 1/4" wide, 1/2" thick, and 1 7/8" tall.

On page 55 of the SEPT. 29, 1946 edition of "St. Petersburg Times", the article entitled "HANDBAGS BEAR COSTLY PRICE TAGS" references this Evelyn Upton lighter-shaped atomizer.
