Pol Chambost Ceramic Orangeade "Bamboo" Set
Made by Chambost in 1956 at his studio in Ivry-sur-Seine, near Paris, this set includes 6 tumblers and one pitcher and is design number 2003. Chambost was one of several mid-20th-century French designers trying to revitalize the decorative arts using traditional techniques. This set is appealing because at first glance one might suspect each piece to be factory made when in fact each is exquisitely handmade. The set is desirable not despite being hand-crafted but because of it.
The condition of this set is nearly mint; the only tiny chip is at the edge of the base of one tumbler.
The pitcher measures 12" high. Its top opening measures 4 3/*" x 3 5/8" and its bottom diameter is 4".
Each of the six tumblers measures 6 3/4" high, has a 2 1/4" top diameter and a 2 1/2" bottom diameter.
