This is a unique open compote. The bowl is shaped like a sea shell and the stem shaped like a dolphin. It was produced by Hobbs, Brockunier Co. between 1860-1870, per The Collector's Encyclopedia of Pattern Glass. The shell of this open compote is approximately 11 1/2" X 8" and 3" deep. Altogether it is about 9 1/4" tall. There are no cracks or chips on this piece. However there are a couple blemishes on the bottom of the bowl as can be seen from the pictures. This would be a unique piece to add to your collection.
