Riverside Glass Covered Cheese Dish

What a unique glass covered cheese dish. On the cover of this dish are two separate scenes of a gentlemen fishing. It is made of clear glass and the top portion is clear frosted glass. This piece is called "The Lone Fisherman". The cover is approximately 7 1/4" tall. There is a flee bite chip on the inner rim of the cover. The plate of this piece shows "The Two Dromios". That of 2 Shakespearean men putting on a play. Plate is clear pressed glass and is 8". On the plate there is one small glass bubble on the inside. This is not uncommon with the processing of the glass then. This piece is part of the "Actress Line" and made by the Riverside Glass Works Brilliant, OH. Per Early American Pattern Glass book, this piece would be dated to the early 1880's. This would make a great piece to add to your collection.
