The Ultimate STEIFF Bear - Huge 38"

Huge Steiff bear from Germany, tag #0201/99. From Steiff web site, the tag number identifies this bear as being 38" tall, beige in color, mohair (60% wool/40% cotton), and from the early 1980's. Of course it's jointed. Has the ear tag and button, but no paper tag on chest. As to condition, it looks like the vintage bear it is. On a scale of 1 to 10, it is at least a 7 or higher. The teddy is pretty clean. On close examination, there is wear on the foot pads around the stitching, with a tiny area worn through, and the mohair looks more sparse – was possibly scooted around since it's almost too large/heavy/awkward to carry. It weighs almost 20 pounds.

I'm not the original owner of this bear, and when trying to search for information, one of the things I found was that this large Steiff was not often sold – perhaps because of the high cost of shipping and also because of the space needed for proper display. However, if you can manage these reasons, you'll have that unique something in your collection that not many others do -- this Steiff bear is marvelous!
