Howard Pierce Family Figurine

This Porcelain version of Family Group is 12" tall, was modeled from the ten foot tall, 800 pound concrete sculpture, that Howard Pierce created for the Hi-Desert Medical Center Community Hospital. A lovely Blue color Father, Mother holding Baby, Little Boy & Little Girl make up this heart warming piece. Excellent condition, no nicks, chips, cracks or crazing. Marked.

Howard Pierce worked for various potteries in and around Claremont, California in the 1930's, establishing his own studio at La Verne in 1941. In 1968 he moved to Joshua Tree, California where he continued designing and producing beautiful porcelain until he died in 1994 leaving a legacy of wonderful animal & human figurines, vases & other decorative items and pewter & copper jewelry.
