Simply a textile staple for the art deco fashion enthusiast; this 1920's Egyptian shawl is the product of painstaking labor as each fine metal piece is woven through the strong cotton net and hammered into place. This particular shawl is an off-white, like a slightly aged ivory, is in strong, clean, near immaculate condition with no signs of tarnish. Metals used on these shawls were either nickel silver, brass or copper. This shawl is adorned with nickel silver.
Quite large measuring in at an unexpanded and approximate 94" X 33", and therefore tremendously versatile (one look we forgot to include is the bundled scarf look, worn by Tom Cruise's rock star character in "Rock of Ages"!...).
Pictured here with liquid silver and other sterling accessories which are not included but available upon request. Acquired many years ago from an London auction; authentic, original 1920's. Appears to have been cleaned just prior to our acquisition.
A sheer delight! Excellent for wear or display.
